These photographs show details of cafés around the world. Some color combination caught the photographer’s eye, some detail that mirrored a special mood.

The photographs often show tables people have left. The conviviality has ended. The objects tell the story of some time spent together chatting or discussing. A fleeting moment in time, in our life.

Especially during 2020 the Café has become more than ever a place of longing. It was a place of freedom, where you could go when you had a free moment, to meet friends, while away the time, look at the passers by, to sit and do nothing and think nothing, a place to work sometimes, a place where you were in proximity of other people, a place to find inspiration and pause for a moment.
